About Chiropractic

The word chiropractic means “to be done by hand”. Chiropractic treatment at AcuHealth involves soft tissue work and subtle manipulation to the spine and/or extremities to restore joint function and support the nervous system, immune function and overall vitality. Unique to AcuHealth, our chiropractor, Dr. Marino, is dual licensed in acupuncture and chiropractic. When used together, these two modalities can provide relief from complex or chronic health concerns. Have questions or are curious what might work best for you? Let’s schedule a consultation to talk through your health history and create a treatment plan to meet your needs.

FAQs

Do I need a referral from my PCP?

Chiropractic care with Dr. Marino does not require a referral from your primary care physician and most insurance plans do cover a percentage of treatment cost. Before setting up an appointment, let us help you find your benefit information. Call the office to speak with our billing specialist and determine the coverage specific to your insurance plan. What does chiropractic treat?

Chiropractic care most directly benefits the central nervous system which, in turn, branches out to impact every organ system in the body. While most of our patients come to us for relief from head, neck, back and joint pain, most comment on the unexpected benefits they feel regarding their mood, stress level, energy level, focus and overall well being. We see patients that range in age from pediatric to geriatric, as the conditions that benefit from chiropractic are countless. Curious about chiropractic care or have tried it before and have questions about our approach? Give us a call today. We would love to speak with you and determine if chiropractic at AcuHealth would serve you.

What is an "adjustment"?

Adjustments can be made along the spine and to joints throughout the body to correct alignment, relieve pain or restriction and improve overall function of the affected area. A thorough health history and exam will be taken before areas requiring adjustment are determined. This procedure is gentle, focused and specific to the needs of the patient. Your practitioner will communicate with you throughout the adjustment to make sure there is no discomfort.

Can it help my arthritis?

Chiropractic care is a safe, natural alternative to effectively manage pain from arthritis. Many of our patients report reduction in medication and overall improvement in mental and physical health with routine chiropractic care. If you have questions specific to your diagnosis, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We would love to look at your diagnostic images or reports and determine what course of treatment might work best for you.

Can I receive chiropractic care while pregnant?

Yes! In fact, it’s recommended. Chiropractic can provide natural pain relief throughout the course of pregnancy, benefit fetal positioning in the third trimester and support healthy labor and delivery. Dr. Marino, our chiropractor at AcuHealth, is a father to two and had the honor of supporting both pregnancies, labors and deliveries using his chiropractic knowledge and expertise.
