FAQS

HOW IS ACUHEALTH DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CLINICS?

Our practitioners have over 30 years of combined experience in our field. We are passionate about the health of our community and are honored to provide consistent health care to the Finger Lakes Region. AcuHealth is committed to continually educating staff, our clients and other healthcare professionals on the many benefits of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and chiropractic care. WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING MY FIRST TREATMENT?

Your comfort is our priority. When your first appointment is confirmed you will be emailed a link to complete your health history form. Together we will review this form, as it asks questions about your current state of health, past illnesses, and family history. These questions are important as we navigate your treatment plan. Your current symptoms may not seem related to past health issues, but our bodies are complex landscapes and everything that happens to them leaves its mark. We value your story and encourage you to ask any questions you may have at any point throughout the intake or treatment. This helps us work together towards a treatment plan to meet your healthcare goals.

Once a care plan is established, the treatment portion of your session will begin.  We will make sure you are in a comfortable position before any modalities are administered.

If you are receiving acupuncture, the points chosen will depend on your condition. You can expect approximately 10-15 needles. Once the needles are inserted, you are left to lie comfortably for 15-30 minutes with the needles in place. Your practitioner will check on you during treatment to insure continued comfort. Many people find acupuncture deeply relaxing, and it is not uncommon for patients to fall asleep during this time.

An initial acupuncture consult and treatment lasts approximately 60-90 minutes. An initial chiropractic consult and treatment lasts 30-60 minutes. Herbal consults last about 30 minutes.

Before leaving the office your practitioner will discuss any recommendations they have following your treatment and the care plan moving forward regarding frequency of visits, diet and lifestyle.
